Just saw some construction photos of the new security area that will become the public entrance allowing the existing entrance to become private for the DH. It is a way off completion yet but it is definitely coming along. My guess is they will want it completed as close to the Halloween season as possible which will allow easier access for the general public. Looks like it is going to be a more modern, efficient security area that should be able to cope with more people.
Let’s hope they add the scanners like WDW instead of a bag check. So much faster!
On this topic, what time should we aim to be ready to rock to get in for early entry times (coming in June). Previously stayed at Grand Californian, which was fairly easy to manage.
We are also coming in June and I would love to hear. Are they opening the security at 7am? They use to wait to open the Harbor side so the hotel guests could get a bit of a head start, but it seems like I am hearing that the DL hotel side is opening later now. We are hoping to be close to the front for early entry.
In March, DLH and Harbor side opened at the same time. However, DLH is a further walk, so you might not be the first at the tapstile. They let everyone into the park at the same time but make the non-EE guests wait in a separate area. We were 5 or so people back at DLH and rarely were first at the tapstile. Usually, 1 group back. My husband and son can walk very fast. I catch up, because I'm short. They were opening security at 7am. We usually got in the DLH security line between 6-6:30am.
Thank you, this is super helpful! In March 2023 they were opening the DLH security first, I wish they would do that again, especially now that early entry is only at one park.
You still get to the attractions before the Harbor side guests. In fact, at DCA, they get to watch you walk away towards Avengers Campus, while they wait in a line.
I haven't heard of that, personally. We were escorted by a CM from the front desk to the e-ticket lounge, which I assume is the norm.
You could do online check-in, then you don't need to go to either desk.
How were the new menu items?
The new menu items were good, and very filling! The macadamia nut pancakes were ginormous and you get 3 of them. My husband and I preferred the coconut toast overall, which came with bacon. Unfortunately, I cannot compare these new items to the older items since this was our first time having breakfast here. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and would definitely come back!
